Meet the Team

  • Angelena (She/her) is an adaptive yoga teacher, teacher trainer, and international retreat leader. Yoga has been a constant in her life since she was a teenager, practicing Iyengar with her dad, and has offered her the resources to navigate through life's challenging moments. In 2012, Angelena did her first teacher training in power and vinyasa --falling in love with the strength, structure, and challenge of these practices. Then, while pursuing her 300 hour training in 2015, she discovered the wonderful offerings of the gentler practices of yin, restorative, chair yoga, prenatal, and postnatal. Since then Angelena's practice and classes have transformed to focus more on the subtle body, slowing down, and moving from a space of awareness and stability.

    On this retreat, you can expect Angelena's classes to include the varied practices she has learned in order to service her students' specific needs. She offers tools and yogic practices to hold space for yourself, listen to the needs of your body, and stay present.

  • Kaytee (she/her) is a Latinx Yoga Therapist and Teacher with a deep passion for holistic health and natural healing. She loves being immersed in nature and can’t wait to share this retreat experience with you!

    With an M.S. in Integrative Medicine and Maharishi Ayurveda from Maharishi International University, Kaytee mixes ancient Ayurvedic wisdom with modern magic to craft one-of-a-kind, feel-good Yoga experiences.

    For nearly a decade, Kaytee has been sharing her approachable, non-judgmental teaching style. On this retreat, you can expect her classes to blend movement, breath work, meditation, and sound healing, all aimed at helping you tap into your own inner healer.

    Having personally experienced powerful healing through Yoga and Ayurveda, Kaytee is passionate about sharing these transformative practices with others. She believes wellness should be practical, accessible, and, above all, fun!

  • You’ll fly into Keflavík International Airport (KEF), just outside Reykjavik. We recommend purchasing your flights at least 90 days before the retreat for the best pricing and availability.

  • Yes! A group shuttle will be provided to and from the airport at designated times. If your flight arrives or departs outside of these windows, you’ll need to arrange your own transfer — but we’ll be happy to point you toward reliable options.

  • Yes, travel insurance is required for all participants. This protects you in case of medical emergencies, lost luggage, or travel delays. It’s the best way to ensure peace of mind while traveling abroad.

  • We’ll spend the first five nights in Reykjavik, staying in centrally located accommodations walking distance to cultural highlights, museums, and restaurants. Then we’ll move to Hotel Hamar, a luxury retreat center in Borgarnes, surrounded by Iceland’s stunning landscapes. Expect modern comforts, cozy rooms, and breathtaking views right outside your door.

  • Yes, in most cases we can! Before the retreat, you’ll receive a welcome packet and intake form where you can note any dietary needs or allergies. We’ll do our best to ensure everyone is supported and nourished.

  • Iceland’s weather can be unpredictable, so layers are key. You’ll also want to be prepared for both yoga practice and outdoor adventures. A detailed packing list will be sent before the retreat, but here are some essentials:

    • Passport

    • Personal medications

    • Fleece jacket or lightweight wool sweater

    • Warm layers (long sleeve tops, soft shells, etc.)

    • Rainproof/windproof jacket and pants (trust us!)

    • Sturdy walking shoes with good tread/grip

    • Sunglasses

    • Gloves, scarf, and warm hat (toque/beanie)

    • Yoga clothes + bathing suit (for hot springs!)

    • Journal, book, and reusable water bottle

  • This retreat is perfect for solo travelers, couples, or friends seeking a bucket-list adventure with balance. Whether you’re craving cultural connection, time in nature, or simply a chance to reset, this retreat is designed for conscious travelers of all levels.

  • Not at all. Our classes are tailored to the group with plenty of options, modifications, and props offered. Whether you’re brand new or an experienced yogi, you’ll feel supported and learn something new.

  • Yoga will be offered daily in Reykjavik and during our stay at Hotel Hamar. Classes will blend gentle movement, meditation, and self-inquiry — designed to balance the adventure of our days with deep stretching, rest and grounding.

    • Deposits are non-refundable.

    • Cancellations made more than 100 days before the retreat will receive a 100% refund (minus deposit + payment processing fees). The deposit can be applied as a credit toward another Kinship Yoga Retreat.

    • Cancellations made less than 100 days prior will receive a 50% refund, and your deposit can be applied as a credit toward another Kinship Yoga Retreat.

    • No refunds will be provided for cancellations 60 days or fewer before the retreat.
